Printful invests over $5 million in the UK and Poland to scale up global expansion in Europe

Charlotte, North Carolina—Printful continues to expand in Europe and has signed leases for two more fulfillment centers. Located in Wolverhampton, UK, and Lodz, Poland, the new facilities will add around 200,000 sq. ft. of fulfillment space and create over 100 new jobs during the first year of operations.

So far, Printful runs its operations in 8 in-house facilities around the world, and three of them are in Europe: two in Latvia and one in Spain. The company has grown to a team of over 700 employees in Europe and more than 1,800 people globally. With the increasing demand for ecommerce and Printful fulfillment services, the company is able to continue executing its global expansion strategy by adding two more European facilities.

“We chose the UK as our next location because it’s the largest ecommerce market in Europe. Printful has a loyal and growing base of customers in the UK who have anticipated our UK expansion for a while and we're thrilled to finally do it. Additionally, it will allow us to significantly shorten shipping times within the UK, making it easy to reach many new customers,” notes Davis Siksnans, CEO & Co-Founder of Printful.

The company is set to initially invest over $3 million (£2.6 million) in the UK fulfillment center. This facility will start by providing services such as DTG (direct-to-garment), embroidery, and printing for home and living items, eventually adding other fulfillment options. A facility in the UK will allow Printful to provide local fulfillment and faster shipping times—delivery within the country will take around 2 business days.

Additionally, the new facility in Lodz, Poland will improve service speeds and allow Printful to continue expanding in European markets.

“Poland has increased their fashion and garment export by 104% over the last 10 years, so to keep up with the increasing demand for cut & sew services, we chose Poland as our next location. Considering that Lodz is historically recognized for its well-developed textile and garment industry, our decision was based on workforce availability and market opportunity,” explains Siksnans.

The company is planning on initially investing over $2 million (7 million zlotych) in the Poland facility over the next few years. This facility will mainly focus on cut & sew services, but will also add DTG and embroidery. It is a quickly growing technique that allows the production and full customization of all-over-print items such as leggings, sports bras, and other activewear. By expanding this production department, Printful will give customers an opportunity to create unique products and differentiate themselves from the competition. Delivery within Poland will take 1–2 business days and only 2 business days to Germany, one of Printful's key European markets.

The company is actively hiring and it is estimated that the new fulfillment centers will be operational by the end of this year.
