Printful to invest 1 million Euros in Barcelona fulfillment center
Jul 2, 2020
Charlotte, North Carolina – Throughout the next 18 months, Printful plans to invest 1 million euros into its Barcelona fulfillment center, which opened in May.
The new 19,350 square-foot facility is Printful’s sixth global fulfillment center and serves the Western European market. Europe is Printful’s second-largest market, and the company’s sales in Spain have tripled in the past year. Printful anticipates more growth, as the Spanish market currently has 23.6 million ecommerce customers, with an additional 5.6 million buyers estimated to be shopping online by 2021.
Since its opening, the facility has fulfilled more than 15K orders of its direct-to-garment and embroidery print-on-demand products. They’ve also recently added masks and luster posters with more to come.
Despite Covid-19 related delays fulfillment times have improved for products like phone cases, mugs, and posters. Orders of these products are being fulfilled in 2.5 days or fewer.
In late July the Barcelona facility will also start warehousing and fulfilling customers’ non-Printful products. The Warehousing & Fulfillment service allows customers to ship their products to a Printful fulfillment center where Printful will fulfill it under their brand.
The company will also add 40 jobs in the areas of production and fulfillment as well as an additional 20 jobs in software development and other IT roles. There are currently more than 20 people already working on Printful’s team in Barcelona. The company is actively hiring more recruits and is safely training all new employees with recommended social distancing practices.
Printful is one of the largest custom on-demand printing and warehousing companies in the world. It has fulfilled more than 19 million items since its launch in 2013. Printful fulfills and ships products like clothing, accessories, and home & living items for online businesses.
Printful currently employs 1000+ people across six fulfillment centers in California, North Carolina, Latvia, Spain, and Mexico.
