Are you a musician looking for new ways to monetize your brand and expand your reach? Selling custom merchandise is an excellent way to do that, and Spotify’s integration with Shopify and Printful makes it easier than ever.
This blog post will explain how selling merch on Spotify with Shopify and Printful works, and the many benefits it offers. From creating custom designs to automating the entire order fulfillment process, you’ll be able to easily monetize your music with this powerful combination. So, let’s dive in and learn more about how selling merch on Spotify can help get your name out there!
For Spotify artists, the Merch Hub is a game-changer. Launched in October 2023, it integrates directly into your Spotify profile, offering a seamless way for fans to discover and buy your merchandise without leaving the app.
This exciting development followed Spotify’s collaboration with Shopify, linking music streaming directly to merch sales. It’s a big move toward a more connected experience.
This not only simplifies the buying process for your audience but also provides you with a direct, cost-effective channel to boost merchandise sales and visibility. Plus, thanks to Spotify’s personalized recommendations, your merch can reach listeners most likely interested. This enhances fan engagement and allows you to focus more on creating music while growing your brand on one of the world’s largest music platforms.

There are many reasons why musicians should consider selling merch. It’s a great way for creators to monetize their work and make extra money. Adding new or exclusive merch can be a powerful way to connect with fans and build hype for new albums or tours.
Spotify pays royalties based on an artist’s share of overall streams across the platform.
Creators typically earn around $0.003 to $0.005 per stream on Spotify for Artists. So to make $100, you need 25,000 people to listen to your song or podcast. But, if you promote merch, you only need five fans to buy a $20 t-shirt on your Shopify store to make the same amount.
For musicians like Laura Rizzotto, making her own merch has been a great way to connect with her Spotify fans and make additional revenue to support her career. And she’s not the only one who’s seeing success. No matter what kind of artist you are or how big your audience is, making money through merchandise is the future of your business. It’s never been easier thanks to Spotify merch and this new integration.
Choosing Printful for your merch means your brand stays front and center. Customize everything from the product to the packaging, ensuring your fans only see your brand, not Printful’s. This white-label approach extends to all products, making every logo, graphic, and design uniquely yours.
Make your fan’s experience special and choose from over 300 premium products. Printful collections—from soft, durable t-shirts to sleek, stylish hats- are customizable with high-quality prints and intricate embroidery.
Remember, you’re not just selling merch; you’re offering fans a piece of memorabilia that is most likely very dear to them, and it needs to last.
Don’t have a designer? No problem. Our intuitive Design Maker empowers you to bring your merch ideas to life, even without design experience. Experiment with your band’s logos, slogans, and visuals, adjusting colors, fonts, and layouts until they perfectly express your music’s vibe.
Forget about the hassle of order management. Printful’s automatic fulfillment system means products are only made and shipped when a fan buys a product from your Spotify profile. This efficiency speeds up delivery and eliminates the need for inventory management, allowing you to focus on your music.
With fulfillment centers worldwide, your merch reaches fans quickly, no matter where they are. This global network ensures lower shipping costs and faster delivery times, showcasing your brand’s professional image.
Save time and money on photoshoots. Simply choose product images with your designs and add them to your merch store.
Connecting your Printful, Shopify, and Spotify is intuitive and relatively fast.
It’s a game-changer for your career, allowing you to focus more on your creativity and less on the logistics of merchandise sales.
With Printful, you can easily add or remove merchandise just in time for your new releases or tours.
Now you’re in the loop on what you need to know to start selling your custom merch on Spotify.
Thanks to Shopify and Printful, it’s never been easier to grow your brand and turn your art into a successful career. Start designing your own merchandise today and make lasting connections with your biggest fans.
